Story: A flimsy tale, the story begins with Magadi (deepak) and he has a childhood friend Pavitra (rakshita). However, Pavitra’s father who is a drunkard sells her to a brothel and the incharge of that brothel (padma vasanthi) treats Pavitra like her own daughter so she is not used in flesh trade. Meanwhile, Magadi grows up with troubles and he joins an underworld gang. The story takes a turn when Pavitra is troubled by the local councillor’s son (amit) and the brothel incharge takes the help of a don. The don’s henchman is Magadi and one of his song remind Pavitra of their childhood bond. What happens from there forms the rest of the story. |
Presentation: The director has come up with a routine storyline and while the presentation was moderate, the narrative was good in parts. The dialogues were lacking punch. The script was mediocre and the screenplay was appealing in few places. Background score was okay but only one song was well tunes. Cinematography could have been better. Editing was upto the mark. Costumes were regular while the art department suited the moods. Deepak has done a decent job and he was impressive in action sequences. Rakshita is not much of a looker so she could not score much. Padma Vasanthi was adequate. Amit was apt. Ranga Teja was effective. The others didn’t have much scope. |
Conclusion: Films with mafia backdrop and finally resulting in tragedies have become quite a common fare in Sandalwood. So it is important that when such stories are made, the screenplay has to be tight and there should be some entertainment value attached to it. While the first half goes with the regular elements of romance and few songs, it is the second half which has all the required melodrama and the predictable climax. Overall, this film has few places worth watching and few scenes that can be ignored. At the box office, it will be hard for the movie to get into success. Bharatstudent verdict: Routine and outdated |
