Kirataka Sandalwood Movie Review
Story:
A rustic tale, the story is about Nandisha (yash) who is an irresponsible guy loitering with his friends, playing cards, drinking and smoking. He also takes money from his mother (thara) forcibly and if she doesn't give, he breaks things at home. Meanwhile, Nandisha's father arrives from Dubai thinking his son is doing computer science and gets laptop. But he is disappointed on knowing the truth. The story takes a turn when Nandisha falls in love with Nethra (oviya) but then she happens to be from a rival village. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a routine storyline and while the presentation was okay, the narrative was not alright. The dialogues were standard, the script was average and the screenplay was not upto the mark. Background score was weak and only two songs were upto the mark. Cinematography was the saving grace. Editing was required during critical situations. Costumes were suiting the situations while the art department was natural. Yash comes across with a good performance but the choice of the role is very dangerous. In a way, Yash is actually misleading the youth with his onscreen character. Oviya looks sensuous and makes her presence felt. Thara was matured. Nagabharana was annoying, Sanketh Kashi was okay. The others came and went.

Conclusion:
This is a remake of the Tamil movie Kalavani which was a big hit. However, the conversion of that in Kannada has not worked completely. While there were few parts which were good, the rest of the time it was bad. The first half was slow and lacked the energy and momentum, the second half was alright but then the total theme in itself was creating negative impact on the audience. At the box office, this might work with the front benchers owing to the mindless storyline but success is not possible.
