An action treat, the story is set on the backdrop of Gopinatham village where Kempa (Santosh) is living with his sister Pragnya (Nayana) and his life changes when the STF forces who arrive there in the search for Veerappan end up killing her. Kempa is out to seek revenge and in no time kills the three STF guys who did it. He leaves the village and comes to Bangalore and given his nature and daring approach, he soon gets a name in the underworld since he ends up killing Reddy, the most wanted don in the southern part. Soon, Kempa becomes the crowned king of underworld despite his reluctance. As fate would have it, he chances upon Bindhu (Tanushika) who is the daughter of a prostitute (Shakeela) and she falls in love with him. However, Kempa is careful and is in the fear of losing her. Finally, he gives up and both of them begin to enjoy the breeze of romance. However, Kempa's main man Shetty (Avinash) waits for the right chance and attacks the don leaving Kempa severely wounded with bullets. Fate comes into play and Kempa finds himself in Mysore as a corporation worker after recovering from the injuries. Much to his shock, he also finds Bindhu who becomes a beggar, loses her mind and on top of it, she is pregnant. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

The director has come up with an intriguing plot given his debut attempt and though the narrative lacked the punch, the presentation was surely effective. The dialogues were suitable, the script had few loose ends but okay, screenplay was done well. Music did not have much to offer on songs but background score was alright, camera was tolerable. Editing could have been a lot better in this one. Santosh is good in performance but then he really needs to do something about his physique and his hair style, they are horrendous. Tanushika was seductive but her expressions were blank. Avinash was perfect, Shakeela was regular, the others did not have much say in this venture.

The film is full of gang wars, action, violence and intense romance. The point of valuing relationship is a highlight here. While the first half shows the growth of the protagonist and his success, the second half takes an emotional turn and though there is a lot of action involved, the emotional quotient tends to take over. The film will find its audience in the B and C centres and the core front benchers. This might be a returner in those centers but a success is far fetched. Better luck next time folks.

Bharatstudent verdict: A passable action flick.
