Jogayya Sandalwood Movie Review
A stale tale, the story begins with Jogayya alias Mahadeva (shivanna) who is living in a village quietly and is all set to marry his ladylove Vidya (sumit kaur). However, on the day of marriage, Jogayya gets arrested and is brought to Bangalore. The story reveals that Mahadeva is none other than Jogayya, the most feared underworld don. But then, he becomes a terror for the wrongdoers and helps people in need. But his enemies try to take revenge and he decides to quit his activities and lead a peaceful life. However, that doesn't work out and he is again brought into the front. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Jogayya Kannada Cinema Review
The director has come up with a thoughtless storyline and while the presentation was standard, the narrative was just okay. The dialogues were lacking the required punch, the script was average while the screenplay was passable. Background score was okay but songs were the saving grace for the film. Cinematography was competent. Editing saw some nice cuts but it could have been better. Costumes were somewhat flashy while the art department was rich. The film belongs to Shivarajkumar for his energetic performance and strong body language. Sumit Kaur was sexy but a branded heroine would have made big difference. Ravishankar was mean, Navya was natural, Pooja Gandhi was alright in cameo, Chandru was okay, RGV was regular, Praveen was adequate. The others didn't have much to offer.
Jogayya Filem Review
The film came in with lot of hype because it is the 100th film for Shivarajkumar and was expected to be powerful. However, it was stereotype, had nothing special to offer. While the first half goes in a milder note, the second half gets into the action zone. One can recall films like Jogi and it must be said that the director has not put any effort to make this different. Overall, this might appeal to hardcore Shivanna fans but the regular audience will not be impressed. At the box office, this will be an average treat but hit is very doubtful.
