God Father Sandalwood Movie Review

Story: A remake tale, the story begins with Shiva (uppi) a great dancer whose potency is doubted by Sujatha (catherine) and to prove his manliness, Shiva shows his ability and Sujatha gives birth to twins. The story takes a turn when Sujatha starts living with one son Ajay and the other son Vijay grows up with Shiva who becomes a Godfather. The story takes a turn when Shiva is attacked by the lookalike of his son and retaliates in his own style. Eventually Vijay knows about his father as well and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.

God Father Kannada Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with a remake storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was strong. The dialogues were meaningful, the script was tight and the screenplay was good. Background score was nice and three songs were worth listening. Cinematography was the highlight. Editing was crisp. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was appealing. The film belongs to Upendra who has come up with three roles and performed them with dexterity and finesse. Catherine was neat, Soundarya was also good, Ramesh Bhat was regular, Ravindra was upto the mark, Sudha Belawadi was standard. Bhumika in guest role has her moments. The others did their bit as required.

Conclusion: The film happens to be a remake of the Tamil hit Varalaaru which came six years ago and despite the gap the script has been tweaked to suit the native Kannada audience. While the first half goes about with the layering of the plot and the elements of romance and comedy, the second half gets into the various twists and turns giving the much needed sentimental twists. At the box office, the film has it all to appease the fans of Upendra and the other genres of audience so success is very likely.
