Devaru Kotta Thangi Sandalwood Movie Review
Story:
A highly emotional tale, the story is about the orphan Shivu (shivaraj) who dotes on his sister Lakshmi (meera). Both of them are deeply attached to each other and are willing to do anything for each other's happiness. Shivu is considered the lucky mascot for the zamindar (avinash) and the latter has a lot of affection for Shivu. Things go lucky when Lakshmi is liked by the Zamindar's son and she gets married to him. However, the other members of the family are not too happy with it and they decide to bring cracks between the brother and sister. In no time, Shivu gets insulted many times and Lakshmi decides to send him away to save the pain. However, a twist of tale occurs and it is again Shivu who can rescue the entire family. What happens and how it goes forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a high grade emotional tale and though the presentation was neat, the narrative was quite melodramatic. The dialogues were heavy, the script was alright and the screenplay was regular. Background score played to the moods but two songs were good. Cinematography was also nice in capturing the colors and richness of the sets. Art department was royal and the costumes also suited the situations. Editing could have been more sharp. Shivarajkumar provides full justice to his fans and takes his role quite well. Meera Jasmine was equally competent and made her presence felt. Monica looks hot and seductive but here she fits the role of a bubbly girl. Avinash was elegant, Sadhu Kokila gave good laughs, same with Lakshmi Devi, Sangeetha, Hema and Rekha carried out their roles effectively.

Conclusion:
The film happens to be a remake of the Telugu super hit movie 'Gorintaku' which had Meera doing the same role. While the first half goes on with the emotional attachment, the second half is a tear jerker and there are lots of ups and downs. The film will go well with the B and C centers and especially with the lady audience if they are into unending serials and soaps on TV. The comedy track and good production values prove as an asset. The film is likely to gain profits at the box office.

Bharatstudent Verdict: Sentiment saga for masses.
