Auto Sandalwood Movie Review
A sad story, the tale begins with Sathya (Sathya) who seems to be a loser in life, he fails in his love, in his exams and is totally dejected. Apparently, his girlfriend Sandhya (Shravani) leaves their neighbourhood and later on, Jahnavi (Swarna) who is a secret admirer of Sathya also vanishes. Meanwhile, Sathya's parents get him married to Roshani (Roshani) and go to Kasi. They die there in a road accident, meanwhile, Sathya begins a finance business and is deceived by a man and loses all his money. Roshani leaves him with their small baby and goes away due to this. Just when Sathya decides to call it quits, in comes a social servant (Mahendra) who buys an auto for Sathya and gives him a new hope. To add to it, Sandhya comes back but now she is a widow. Though her parents force Sathya to marry her, he refuses. Instead, he gets married to Jahnavi and goes on with his life. In between this is a teenager who travels in Sathya's auto daily and falls for him. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Auto Kannada Cinema Review
The director has come up with a rather dry subject and true to it, even the narrative was amateur and the presentation was raw. The dialogues were stale, the script was not upto the mark and the screenplay was horrendous. The saving grace has been some soulful tunes and good songs while the camerawork also was apt. Editing should have been better but since the story was not etched out well, nothing could be done. Other departments were just about okay with their contribution. Sathya needs to go a long way if he is looking at a career as an actor, Swarna looks simple and sweet while Shravani looks pretty and has got a good sex appeal. Roshini was raw. Padma Vasanthi was apt, Srinivasprabhu was neat. The others were just okay.
Auto Filem Review
The film attempted to make a mark by taking few leads from the hit movie 'My Autograph' but then it was no way near it. The film had too many complications and twists which made the climax clichéd. While the first half of the movie goes about causing more and more sadness, the second half tries to revive the situation but then the audience has no choice but to feel depressed about it. The film could have been a lot better if the screenplay was worked on and the layers opened properly. This will not be able to shine well at the box office.
