Appu & Pappu Sandalwood Movie Review
Story:
A well knit tale, the story begins with the young and urban couple Ramesh (abbas) and Deepa (rekha) who ended up quarreling due to the birth of a child. He is Appu (master snehith) and in no time, the parents get separated. Though Appu wants to know about his father, Deepa rebukes him. He approaches his grandfather and gets to know the good nature of his father. Meanwhile, Ramesh is working in Cambodia and a situation comes when Deepa has go to Cambodia on work. Appu uses this opportunity and goes there. There he ends up getting involved with an orangutan who is on a mission, a gang of bad men, a beautiful air hostess and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with an interesting storyline and the presentation and narrative were decent. The dialogues were okay, the script was alright and the screenplay was apt. Background score was good and one song was excellent. Camerawork was impressive. Editing was above average. Costumes were trendy and the art department was effective. Master Snehith looks cute and did his bit well. Abbas and Rekha gave matured performances and contributed well. The real showstealer was the orangutan which gave many light moments to the kids. Komalkumar was convincing, Rangayana was regular, the others performed as per standards and added value.

Conclusion:
The film is basically a treat for the kids and most importantly, the makers must be applauded for coming up with an unique effort of getting an orangutan to act. While the first half is regular with the melodrama and sentiment, it is the second half which gains a lot of interest and the last twenty minutes were riveting. Though the subject is meant for the kids, there is a point or two to the young generation which is getting married and their thoughts on children. This film requires publicity and it has the potential to score a hit.
