Story: A well knit tale, the story begins with three friends Arjun (hrithik), Imran (farhan) and Kabir (abhay) who have a reunion after few years. They meet up in Spain and decide to try out various things. As such, all three of them have their own issues to deal with. Meanwhile, they are joined by Laila (katrina) who starts as their diving coach but eventually becomes friends. She strikes a chord with Arjun who is always focused on his work and is ambitious about career and money. Kabir is engaged to Natasha (kalki) who is a rather possessive girl. Imran is keen on meeting his father (naseeruddin) who abandoned him during childhood. The reunion journey brings about different experiences to each of them and how they go through a transition forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a regular storyline and while the
presentation was above average, the narrative was excellent. The
dialogues were well written, the script was strong and the screenplay
was effective. Background score was intense and three songs were very
good. Cinematography was the highlight. Editing was neat but it could
have been trimmed at few places. Costumes were decent and elegant while
the art department was apt. Locations deserve a special praise here.
Hrithik Roshan comes up with a suave performance and he rocks with his
looks and physique, Katrina Kaif was stunningly beautiful and she
carries her role with élan, Abhay Deol was matured and he has a natural
ease in front of the camera. The real show stealer was Farhan Akhtar
whose sense of humour brings many laughs and he also appeals with his
emotional sequences. Kalki Koechlin was below average in looks and
performance. Naseeruddin Shah was effective. Ariana Kabnol was apt.

Conclusion:
The film comes across with a simple insight into the lives of the
protagonists but then it is the way their lives change and the various
experiences they undergo which entertain. While the first half goes
about with the fun and frolic, the second half goes about with the
emotional issues and how they deal with it. There is an equal dose of
fun, melodrama, romance and sentiment. Overall, the film scores high on
technical values and presentation while content was okay. The film would
have been much better if the length was trimmed a bit. At the box
office, success looks guaranteed.
Bharatstudent Verdict: Entertaining and emotional treat for friends, enjoy it!! |
