Warning Bollywood Movie Review
An interesting tale gone sour, the story begins with Ramsharan (karan razdan) who owns a trawler. One day, he travels into the seas and is kidnapped by the Mujahideen. They are led by Azaan Khan (atul). Ramsharan's men are killed and in a fight, even he gets killed by Azaan. Meanwhile, Ramsharan's family in the village comprising of his father (satish kaushik), mother (ila arun), wife Megha (rituparna) grieve. But Ramsharan's daughter Muskaan (Jannat) is unaware of what is happening and has questions. The story takes a turn when she gets haunted by a spirit and it wants to convey something. Whose spirit is that? What does it want? All this forms the rest of the story.
Warning Hindi Cinema Review
The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was alright, the narrative was indifferent. The dialogues were good in places, the script was weak while the screenplay was lacking the depth. Background score was good but songs were not upto the mark. Cinematography was good. Editing was sharp. Costumes were natural while the art department was appealing. Karan Razdan comes up with a decent performance, Atul Kulkarni was not used to the fullest, Anupam Kher was perfect, Jannat was just okay, Rituparna Sengupta was sensuous and effective, Satish Kaushik was standard, Ila Arun was apt. The others didn't have much to offer.
Warning Filem Review
Though the idea of mixing terrorism with supernatural element is appreciable, such scripts require deft handling of the subject. That was missing here. While the first half is all about the layering of the plot, the second half deals with connecting the dots and underlying the law of Karma. Overall, despite good star cast and a strong storyline, the director could not conceive it in the right manner onscreen. At the box office, this would be a disappointment.
