A shocking tale, the story is set on the backdrop of the Mumbai slums and here is Municipality (shams patel) who escapes from the reformatory due to the paedophilic warden (alok nath). His life takes a turn when he comes across a two day baby abandoned on the street and about to be mauled by the street dog. However, he saves the baby and when he realizes that no one is there to take care of the baby, he decides to reunite the infant to its mother. From then on begins his journey and he encounters a head eunuch (jalees), a priest (barry john), a prostitute Laxmi (mukta) and others. Municipality finally manages to locate the baby's mother but he is in for a rude shock. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

The director has come up with a rather hard hitting storyline and he has gripped it with proper presentation. The narrative was also neat barring few hiccups. The dialogues were realistic, the script was convincing and the screenplay was fabulous. Background score plays with the moods and the songs made their presence felt. Cinematography was top notch, editing was required at few places, costumes didn't have much work but the art department was too good to be true. Shams Patel deserved the award for his performance, equally good were Alok Nath, Barry Joh, Sanjay Mishra, Muktha Barve. Raghuveer Yadav was noisy but Jalees Sherwani was awesome. Even the entire child group artistes gave some powerful performances which added to the moods.

The film is more of an art genre but then the truth is very hard to digest for the regular audience. Though it may not be a hit commercially it definitely has a dark side to this world and society that many would want to ignore and dread facing it. While the first half was good, the second half could have been trimmed a bit from those unwanted scenes. Overall, the film will strike the raw nerve of the audience due to its concept but this will be for a select audience who believe in truthful cinema and realistic messages.
Bharatstudent Verdict : Hard hitting and gut wrenching, only for those who like to see sensible and realistic cinema
