Story:
A funny tale, the story begins in the US where Om
(Rajat kapoor) is an American citizen of Indian origin. He becomes the victim of
the global recession and is compelled by his bank to pay up a huge amount to
clear the loan or vacate the house. For this, he decides to come to India and
sell his ancestral land. However, the story takes a turn when he gets kidnapped
by a gang (sanjay, manu rishi, amit sial) who apparently are also victims of the
global recession. However, what they don't know is that even Om is on the road
to bankruptcy. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has
come up with a really catchy storyline and he has strengthened it with good
presentation and narrative. The dialogues were funny, the script was not very
bumpy, the screenplay was apt. Background score was syncing well with the scenes
and songs were not disturbing. Cinematography was excellent. Costumes were
effective and the art department was realistic. Editing was good but it could
have been sharp at few places. Rajat Kapoor delivers yet another delectable
performance, Neha Dhupia is appealing, Sanjay Mishra was fantastic, Amole Gupte
was hilarious, Manu Rishi was perfect and Amit Sial was apt. |
Conclusion:
It is not often that
one gets to come up with a low budget film and stuff it with interesting concept
and impressive performances. However, that has happened in this case and while
the fun part is definitely good, there are few hiccups. Writing was weak at few
points which slow down the pace but overall, the film must be appreciated for
its offbeat plot and the convicted performances which give the audience a good
time. This has got a strong chance to make it to hit mark at the box
office.
