OMG Oh My God! Bollywood Movie Review

Story: An interesting tale, the story begins with Kanji Bhai (paresh rawal) who runs an antique shop and is a total atheist. He sells idols of god at triple the prices. On the other hand, his wife is a staunch believer of god. An earthquake occurs and in the entire town, it is only Kanji Bhai’s shop which collapses. He approaches the insurance company but his claim is refused as they cite it is an act of god. Kanji bhai decides to file a case against god and sends notices to all religious heads as they are the representatives. The court case begins and the story takes a turn when a man comes in suit and boot. He introduces himself as Krishna (akshay). What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with an entertaining storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was engagin.  The dialogues were witty and satirical, the script was good and the screenplay was effective. Background score was nice and one song was top shot. Cinematography was impressive. Editing was required during the second half. Costumes were natural and suited the environment while the art department was impressive. Akshay Kumar carries out his role with elan but the show stealer was Paresh Rawal who shoulders the film excellently. Nidhi Subbaiah is smoking hot. Mithun Chakraborty was fabulous, Govind Namdeo was good, Murali Sharma made his presence felt. Poonam Jhawar was apt. The song comprising of Prabhu Deva and Sonakshi Sinha was highlight.

Conclusion: The idea of a conflict between man and god is always exciting and this film has been adapted from the super hit play Krishan vs Kanhaiya. While the first half passes smoothly with good element of comedy and an interesting interval twist, the second half gets slow due to dragged sequences and the climax was a little laidback. Overall, the film was good enough for its performances and the storyline. At the box office, this will touch a commercially successful zone without any hiccups.
Bharatstudent verdict: Entertaining comedy treat, can be watched!
