Story: A realistic tale, the story begins on the backdrop of the capital city Delhi and here is the beautiful and aspiring model Jessica (myra). However, her dreams are shortlived as she is shot dead in a celebrity party. The killer is Manish (Md zeeshan), son of a influential politician Pramod Bharadwaj (shireesh sharma) and he does the act in totally drunk state. The reason- Jessica refuses to serve drinks since the bar is closed. Manish is taken in and in no time, he is acquitted despite the presence of 300 guests in that party. However, Jessica's sister Sabrina (vidya) takes the mantle and she is supported by a rough tongued and determined lady journalist Meera (rani) to bring the killer to justice. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a gripping storyline and while the presentation was realistic the narrative was appealing. The dialogues were excellent, the script was tough and had few brilliant moments. The screenplay was fitting. Background score was catchy and songs cause a stir. Cinematography was excellent and gave a realistic feel. Editing was required during the second half. Costumes were natural, conventional and apt while the art department made its presence felt. Yet again, Vidya comes up with a delectable performance and shows the required maturity and poise. Her sensuality is amazing. Zeeshan was impressive and mean enough. The real show stealer was Rani Mukerji who gave a hard hitting performance and she literally lived the character. Shirish Sharma was prompt, Myra was beautiful and natural, Vikram Jai Singh was perfect, Rajesh Sharma was riveting, the others did their bit as required and added value.

Conclusion: The film has been made on the real life story of the murder of Jessica Lal and the makers stuck to the realistic episode without a glitch. While the first half breezes off and gets the audience directly into the story, it is the second half which gets quite intense. The film would have been a lot better if the length was trimmed. Overall, this is a must watch film for its natural flair of truth and the determination of the characters. The masses may not have much to like it but this is for the thinking and lady audience. This will be a strong player at the box office. Bharatstudent verdict : Hard hitting and thought provoking, women will connect to it |
