Mr. White Mr. Black Bollywood Movie Review

A comedy without a kick, the story begins with Gopi (Suniel Shetty) who belongs to a small town Hoshiarpur and a man with clean thoughts. He travels and comes all the way to Goa with the sole intention of returning a piece of land that is lying in the village to his childhood friend Kishen (Arshad Warsi). Meanwhile Kishen is a con man who is busy taking innocent people for a ride and he has a reason for that too. There is his darling sister Divya (Mahima Mehta) who is pursuing her education in London and she needs to be funded. Kishen is supported by his accomplice (Atul Kale) in his misdeeds but luckily for them, they prosper very well. Kishen's lady love is Anuradha (Rashmi Nigam) and he takes her for a ride too with a story that he has his evil twin Hari, who is doing all this and he is a nice guy. Now, Kishen has a problem in the form of Gopi and starts avoiding him at all possible chances. Meanwhile, he has already robbed three pretty girl thieves of a diamond pouch containing 25 crores worth of the stones. What Kishen does not know is that it belongs to the dreaded don Laadla (Ashish Vidyarthi), who is also in Goa sniffing the presence of the diamonds. What happens in the end forms the rest of the story.

Mr. White Mr. Black Hindi Cinema Review

The director tried to put in a brave attempt to churn out some rib tickling comedy but lost out on following few basics like screenplay and music. The narration was okay but the presentation was pathetic. The script had many loose ends and the music was no where near good to catch the tunes. Editing was poor, the only saving grace is some good cinematography. The other departments were just okay. Suniel Shetty came out with his usual best as a village guy while Arshad managed few sensible timings of humor. Anishka Khosla was bubbly and reminded of Preity Zinta while Rashmi Nigam is a true beauty. Sandhya Mridul was grossly underutilised and Sharat Saxena came out as a revelation. Ashish Vidyarthi was too noisy and the track between Upasana Singh and Vrajesh Hirjee lacked depth. The others were just marked with average performances.

Mr. White Mr. Black Filem Review

When it comes to comedy, it is very important that the script needs to be witty and the presentation of the plot needs to be well connected. Both these factors were missing in the movie and though some bits and pieces were managing few laughs here and there, the entire movie on the whole was a mess. The second half in particular just came down like a house of cards and there was absolute mayhem at the climax. The film also got dragged for unnecessary reasons which dampened the momentum further. Though there is a lot of glamour and branded casting in the movie, it is very hard for it to make the cash registers ring as the subject lacked flavor.

Bharatstudent Verdict: Can be passed, nothing great or humorous about it.
