Story:
An offbeat theme with a powerful message, the story is about VK (Ranvir Shorey) who comes from a town to the big bad city of Mumbai with the sole aim of becoming a star in the film industry. As fate would have it, he gets into an inevitable situation with the notorious underworld and from what was meant to be a world of stars for him turns out to be a world of violence and terror. He gets deeper into the swamp and things get even worse when an accidental happening causes the entire gang a loss. From then on begins a heart stopping chase where VK has to become an impostor reluctantly and has to be someone he is not, this involves the don (Naseeruddin Shah) his girlfriend (Neha Dhupia), the don's lieutenant (Vinay Pathak). Where does all this end? What happens to VK? Is he successful in becoming a star? Watch the movie to get the answers.

Presentation:
Director Rajat Kapoor has been leaping by bounds in his art of story telling. Though most of his concepts are offbeat they surely have it in them to take the audience to a different platform. His narration of the plot and presentation of the film is excellent in this film, he has been well supported by some good background score and an expert technical team in the form of camera and editing. The script is the backbone of the movie and has shown great strength. Naseeruddin Shah was par excellence, Neha Dhupia has proved yet again that she is not just a seductress but a good actress too, Vinay Pathak did his bit with ease and did not have much to offer. Iravati is remarkable while Saurabh Shukla is too good. The real limelight has been hogged by Ranvir whose depiction of a serious role is an eye opener when looked at his past funny roles. He has come out as a very good actor.

Conclusion:
An interesting subject with an expert hand in the telling department, though it has the right kind of everything in it, the film will be more of a recipe for the multiplex audience and those who are looking at a parallel cinema. The first half of the film goes on in a racy fashion and takes the accelerator in the second half when the audience realizes that this is in fact a thriller and not just a comedy sausage like Rajat's earlier flicks. The movie will find its gold in the metro and A centers while B and C may be a matter of luck and time.
