Story:

A different tale told in a dull fashion, the story begins with Meerabai (Mandira) who happens to be a teacher of mathematics and the interesting part is though she has it all in her to get any man, she is single and the best part, she is all happy about it. Much to the contrast, she is in love, and that too with the game of cricket and the cricketer Anil Kumble. Her dream world is always there and continues until Arjun (Eijaz Khan) enters into her life. From there on begins the journey of confusion and emotional conflict since Meera's interest and heart lies in the game and the tall Anil Kumble whereas the reality holds Arjun right in front of her. Will she be able to take him? All this forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:

The director has come up with a different thought but then that was good for a thought and not enough to convert it into a script and then make it into a movie. The subject was quite flimsy and though the presentation was alright, the narrative lacked depth and substance. The script was quite weak and then the screenplay was somewhat okay. The music was just about average and the camera work did not have anything special to offer. Editing was soft on few ends and it could have been better. Mandira looked perfect for the role and she has been the life and soul for the film though the character was not etched strongly. Aijaz Khan did his bit with grace and could have been better. Anupam Kher could have been better, Mahesh Manjrekar was grossly underutilized. Anil Kumble was decent though not great at acting, Pratiksha Lonkar was not used well. The others did their bit mechanically.

Conclusion:

The title of the film looks to be a full length sports film and it will have cricket in it feel but the truth is this is more of a romantic story than cricket. While the first half goes on in a rather dull mode, it is the second half that begins to get some life and the pre climax has been the real time when the movie gets hot but then it is too late by then for the audience to relish it. Technically, there is nothing to rave about nor content wise is there something special to hold on to the seat. The film will surely vanish without a trace in just about few days...
