Lafangey Parindey Bollywood Movie Review

Story:
An offbeat tale, the story begins on the backdrop of Mumbai streets and here lives Nandan Kamthekar alias Nandu (neil). He is a 'Tapori' but the unique quality is his ability to do boxing blindfolded and knock out his opponents. He is a hero among his friends and locality. On the other hand, there is Pinky Palkar (deepika) who works in a shopping mall but then she is highly ambitious. She wants to make a career of her own and be a winner in life. Things change when she comes across Nandu and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a different storyline and the presentation was good while the narrative was okay. The script was mediocre, the dialogues are clichéd, the screenplay was alright. Background score was average and songs were a letdown. Cinematography was impressive. Editing was required at few places. Costumes were trendy and art department was above average. Nitin tries his best to be a streetside guy but he is too classy for that. The real show stealer is Deepika Padukone who hogs the limelight. Kay Kay Menon was justified. Piyush Mishra was alright, Manish Choudhary was regular, Amey Pandya was apt, the best among the lot was Namit Das. The others didn't have much to offer.

Conclusion:
Given the background of the director, this is a completely different theme from him. However, he has managed to give his best. While the first half looks good and riveting with interesting sequences, the second half loses momentum until the climax. Overall, the film has few engaging moments but not before it has its share of bumpy hiccups. The film will not be a sure shot hit but it can gather few decent collections and make it an average grosser.
