Khichdi Bollywood Movie Review
A whacky tale, the story begins with Hansa (supriya) whose brother Himanshu (JD) has got a weird ambition. He wants to have the most unforgettable and unbelievable but true love story. On the other hand, there is Parminder (kirti) who is the neighbour of Himanshu and she falls in love with Himanshu. Everything goes well and both get engaged. Story takes a turn on the wedding day when Himanshu realizes that all that experiences and memories he wanted before marriage didn't happen. This leads his family to come up with bizarre situations so that Himanshu's desire is fulfilled. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Khichdi Hindi Cinema Review
The director has come up with a rather illogical storyline but then it is the presentation and narrative that scores. The dialogues are hilarious, the script was weak but the screenplay was good. Background scored helped and songs were okay. Cinematography was colorful. Editing was neat. Costumes were vibrant and the art department was flashy. Supriya gives a perfect act and entertains, JD was good, Kirti was sensuous and beautiful, Anang Desai was apt, Rajeev Mehta was regular, Nimisha was natural, the other artistes did their bit as required and added value to the film.
Khichdi Filem Review
The film happens to be an adaptation of the TV serial which has been quite a hit. This is something new in our country but it seems to have worked well. While the first half goes about with the mushy romance, it is the second half that really gains momentum and makes things work. However, this is purely out of reason and logic so there are smiles at many places but one must not use his brain. At the box office, this might be a profit grosser if proper publicity is done.
