Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey Bollywood Movie Review
Set on the backdrop of 1930 during the British India regime, the story happens at Chittagong which is relatively a quiet port. However, what many are not aware is that a revolution is being planned there against the British Empire. This is led by a teacher Surjya Sen (abhishek) and his team comprises of two young women Kalpana (deepika), Pritilata (vishakha), five hardcore revolutionaries and 56 young boys who are fearless and courageous. The date is decided as April 18th and a total of five attacks are planned on series which shook the pillars of the British. How was it planned? How was it executed? What were the consequences? All this forms the rest of the story.
Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey Hindi Cinema Review
The director has come up with a real life story and he has translated it very well with his presentation and narration. The dialogues were inspiring, the script was well written, the screenplay was clean. Background score was catchy but songs could have been better. Cinematography is impressive. The real credit goes to the costumes and art department for coming up with some exceptional work. Editing was required at many places. Abhishek Bachchan was good and he has shown maturity and balance in his performance. Deepika Padukone scores the brownie points with her natural beauty and challenging performance. Vishakha Singh is an eye catcher, she has shown potential, Sikander Kher was fabulous, Amin Gazi was awesome, Vijay Maurya was effective. The others did their bit as required and made their presence felt.
Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey Filem Review
The film has been made on the basis of the book 'Do and Die: The Chittagong Uprising 1930-1934' which was written by Manini Chatterjee. While the first half goes about with the characters and the layering of the plot, the second half gets into its execution and the various emotions connected with it. Technically, the film is made brilliantly but it could have been a lot better if the duration of the film was altered. This has led to a slow pace and few idle moments for the audience. Overall, the film must be appreciated for the attempt of the genre. At the box office, this will be an above average grosser.
