Karma: Crime, Passion, Reincarnation Bollywood Movie Review

Story:
An oft repeated tale, the story begins in the backdrop of Ooty and here comes Vikram (Carlucci) along with his wife Anna (Alma) since she wants Vikram to see his father Ranvir (Vijayendra) as they got married. The young couple comes for the first time in thirty years and for Anna it is the first time. However, as soon as she lands there, weird things begin to happen to her and she feels very much a part of her place. This behavior irks Vikram and he lets his steam on Anna. However, things begin to happen to him too and soon he realizes that it is happening for real. Immediately, he apologises to Anna and together, they decide to unravel this mystery. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Karma: Crime, Passion, Reincarnation Hindi Cinema Review

Presentation:
The director has come up with a known tale but then he was able to present it well at key parts, however, his narrative fell flat at key places. The dialogues were okay, the script had flaws, the screenplay was alright. Background score was alright and cinematography was done well. Editing was required at many points and other departments like art, costumes and production have made their presence felt. Alma did her role very well and even Carlucci was good to his requirement, Vijayendra was graceful but Claudia did not have much to offer. The others did their bit as required and nothing much from their end.

Conclusion:
The film happens to be an eerie tale and subjects like this have been dealt with before. While the first half goes about with the regular building up of the plot, the second half has got few twists but then it is the climax that really disappoints. Even otherwise, the film was good at few points as it delivered some shock points but the major setback was revealing the culprit much before hand to the audience. The film might just appeal to the urban audience and that too if a positive word of mouth follows it.
