Jimmy Bollywood Movie Review

Story:

A stale story, the movie begins with Jimmy (Mimoh Chakraborty) who is a mechanical engineer in the day and turns into a popular DJ at night. He is an ambitious guy with talent but is caught up in a debt that has been created by his father (Prithvi). Hence, he takes up this dual role and works towards clearing of the loan. However, he falls into a tangle as a murder takes place and all investigations head to the direction of Jimmy. He takes upon himself the crime of committing the murder of a young woman due to a strong reason that he knows but then once he gets inside the prison, he discovers that all this was actually part of a major plan and Jimmy was just used as a pawn. What is the plan? Where does Jimmy fit into this? How is he connected to the dead young girl? Is he successful in coming out of this? All this forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:

The director has come up with a rotten subject and though his presentation was good, the narration lacked depth as there is not much happening in the story. The main culprit in the movie is the storyline itself which has been used like a door mat from the past many years. There is nothing novel about it, even the music was atrocious and did not do much. The script was okay and the screenplay was fair but the editing was bad. Mimoh needs to work on few aspects like dialogue delivery and expressions but he has excelled in the dance like his father and has proved that he is the one to watch out for if there is a good script on hand. Viviana looked pretty but must work on many things if she has to become a heroine. Shakti Kapoor was perhaps sleeping when he signed to do this role. Zulfi Syed was theatrical and was not convincing. Ashish Vidyarthi came out with another performance which is not of his caliber. Rahul Dev was grossly underutilized. The others did their job mechanically.

Conclusion:

A lot of factors need to be taken into consideration when launching a star kid and the makers simply did not seem to bother about that. The entire length of the film was soggy and there was not a moment of bright light in it. First few minutes and you will understand that the film is gone, one really wonders how an experienced veteran like Mithun agreed such a script for his son's debut. Blame the story but not the star boy who has enough material in him to make it big. This will surely be a dud at the box office and can someone get some fresh brains for stories please??? Better luck next time Mimoh...

Bharatstudent verdict: Pathetic and poor!!! Better off not watching it.
