I Hate Luv Storys Bollywood Movie Review

A tale of opposites, the story begins with Jay (imran) who is a staunch believer that love stories don't exist and infact, he hates them. However, his fate is with the romantic Veer (sameer soni), the film maker who is known for his mushy romantic treats to the audience. Jay is an assistant to Veer and can't help but fret about it. To make things worse, he is made to work with the new production designer Simran (sonam). Now, Simran is a total believer of love and love stories. She already has an affair on going with Raj (samir dattani) and things go here and there with the presence of Jay around. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

I Hate Luv Storys Hindi Cinema Review

The director has come up with a flimsy storyline but then it was the presentation and narrative that score the points. The dialogues are witty, the script was neat and the screenplay was effective. Background score was top notch and songs were melodious. Cinematography was excellent, costumes were impressive and art department was creative. Editing could have been better during the first half. Imran as usual does his bit with élan and carries himself with ease. Sonam is bubbly and beautiful, their onscreen chemistry works big time, Sameer Soni was elegant, Samir Dattani was neat, the others did their bit as required.

I Hate Luv Storys Filem Review

The film actually runs on a rather slim line but then it would appeal to those who really would like to relish some fairytale romances. While the first half is not upto the mark as it goes slow, it is the second half where things begin to pick up and the climax is rather unusual but leaves a positive feeling. Technical values are good and given the freshness, it will appeal to the young crowds and hopeless romantics. This might be a decent fare at the box office though.
Bharatstudent Verdict : Purely romantic and youthful, may not suit for practical audience
