Though not an out and out comedy, HEYY BAYY packs enough punch which will leave everyone with smiling face in the end. First time complete (earlier directed one episode in DARNA ZAROORI HAI) director, comedian, Sajid Khan known for run of the mills filmy serials on Television has come up with more than average film. Sajid used the simple formula of having drama with loads of comedy and of course the spicy stuff as a topping spread across to give the AAHA!! Feeling to young and old one alike.
The Plot: The film revolves around three flirts Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan or normally the womanizers, all of whom have only one mantra in their lives: Flirt-Sleep-Ditch. All the three bachelors do this job quite easily without ever trying to commit fulltime to any female. But a small girl less than a year old makes an entry into their lives thereby completely changing their lives forever. Though the bachelors struggle to hold onto baby with their flirting disease, one tragedy happens which eventually make them become more responsible as a dotting fathers to the young kid. And with the entry of Vidya Balan in the later half, the story takes a completely new turn. |
Summary: The movie starts on a good note, but mid-way it looses the track and gets drifted with many subplots. But one should appreciate Sajid for keeping the interest of audiences with the story line and drama and his main trump card Akshay Kumar, who is having blast as a comic timer. Akshay has been evolving better and better humorist actor with each film day by day. It is Akshay who keeps the tempo of the film intact with his one-liners.
Sajid maintained good flow of the story along with humor and drama side by side. Lot of scenes involving the baby girl makes people laugh and cry simultaneously but many a times it becomes too drag and give the feeling of emotional overdose. The film stands on the strong story line along with good casting of characters in their respective roles. The music of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is catchy but not enough to make people tap with their shoes.

Ritesh and Fardeen come out good, though many felt Ritesh has not been utilized fully which would have given more impact. Vidya looks stunning and she makes it very clear why she is being the one of the most sought out actresses today in Bollywood. The cameos of Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan and Anupam Kher add extra variety to the film and Sajid has intelligently used SRK to promote his film.
Bharatstudent Verdict: Overall HEYY BABYY is a movie one can certainly watch for the weekend to make their life happier and brighter. |
