Gali Gali Chor Hai Bollywood Movie Review

Story: An interesting tale, the story begins with Bharat (akshaye), an ordinary cashier at bank who also acts as Hanuman in the famous Ram Leela drama. Bharat’s dream is to essay the role of Lord Ram which is being done by Sattu (amit), brother of MLA Manku (murli). On the other hand, Manku is miffed with Bharat since he has let out his room for opposition candidate Mohanlal (shashi ranjan). The story takes a turn when a table fan of Bharat gets stolen from his home and a complaint is filed. What are the experiences and travails of Bharat to get the fan back forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a different storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was a little unusual. The dialogues were decent, the script was written with value and screenplay was prompt. Background score was good and three songs were there for listening. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was upto the mark. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was apt. Akshaye Khanna has come up with a riveting and entertaining performance. Shriya looks sizzling hot and makes her presence felt. Mugdha Godse didn’t have much to offer. Satish Kaushik was nice. Annu Kapoor was awesome. Murli Sharma was effective. Vijay Raaz was excellent. The others did their bit as required.

Conclusion: The film is basically a dig against the corrupt system that runs in our country with a pinch of humour laced in it. While the first half takes off nicely and gives a promising interval bang, it is the second half that staggers at key places. But still, the film manages to pick up during the climax phase though the ending was not that convincing. Overall, this is a film which must be enjoyed for the humour aspect and the message to the viewers. At the box office, this would be an average to above average grosser.
