Ek Vivaah.. Aisa Bhi Bollywood Movie Review

Story :
An emotional saga, the story begins on the small by-lanes of a middle class housing locality in Bhopal and in that lives the beautiful Chandni (Eesha) along with her father (Alok Nath), her younger brother Anuj (Master Amey Pandya/Vishal Malhotra) and Sandhya [Baby Ishita Panchal/Amrita Prakash]. Chandni happens to be an expert in classical and folk dances and at home she simply dotes on her kid brother and sister. As life would have it, Chandni goes for a stage show and chances upon Prem (Sonu Sood) and it is love at first sight. However, Prem happens to be from an aristocratic business family and a good lover of music. Both of them decide to get married and just when life looks hunky dory, right at the time of her engagement, Chandni's father dies. Heartbroken and not sure of what to do with her siblings, she takes up a brave decision and decides not to marry until her brother and sister grow up. Now, this process takes a total of twelve years, does Prem wait for that long and get going with his life. Do the siblings settle and make Chandni proud? All this forms the rest of the story.

Presentation :
The director has come up with a rather emotional subject but then he has been careful in his presentation and narrative. The script was written well, dialogues were intense, screenplay was perfect. Editing was a bit coarse but alright. Cinematography was excellent but the music was a major drawback which resulted in the film losing out some points. Eesha looks ravishingly beautiful and came out with a good performance, despite her traditional look, her sex appeal is still intact. Sonu was perfect and fitted perfectly in the understanding guy's role. Alok Nath was gracious, Smita Jaykar was neat, Vallabh Vyas was to the mark, Vishal comes as a revelation and is top notch, Chhavi is apt, Amrita did not have much to do. The others did their bit with ease.

Conclusion :
The idea of having a twelve year clause sounds far too idealistic but then the other aspects of love, emotion, sentiment and attachment has actually overpowered the flaws. The first half was bit bumpy due to the unnecessary and not so melodious songs but things change during the second half and it is a typical Barjatya movie that goes on for three hours. This is definitely not for the fun loving and metro centric audience but family folk will definitely connect to it in a big way. Commercially, the movie will do really well in the rural and interior regions and it appears that a success may just be in the pipeline.

Bharatstudent Verdict : Neat homely Indian emotional drama, family audiences only please...
