EMI Bollywood Movie Review

A real life tale gone haywire, the story begins on an interesting note as it revolves around Sattar (Sanjay Dutt) who is the owner of Good Luck Recovery Agency. Now this is not a IT company but they specialize in recoveries from loan takers. Sattar has this dream of becoming a politician but originally he does his bhai giri and later on takes up the smooth role of a recovery agent. His policy is very simple, if you take loan, repay it, if you get married, then stay loyal till the rest of life. Sattar becomes the hot property of all banks, telecom companies and other folks and in this process he comes across four defaulters whose cases he needs to solve. Firstly, there is Chandrakanth Arjun (Kulbushan) then there is the couple of Ryan and his wife (Arjun and Malaika), Anil and Shilpa (Aashish and Neha Uberoi) and last but not the least, there is the charming Prerna (Urmila). Now Sattar Bhai begins to involve in their personal problems and starts resolving them one by one. In this process, he is smitten by the charms of Prerna and ends up falling in love with her. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

EMI Hindi Cinema Review

The director has come up with a real life story but then he ends up including typical film masala that spoils the dish. The script was written poorly but the screenplay tried to salvage the situation, the dialogues were excellent but the music was just mediocre. Camerawork was very well done, editing was average and the costumes and locations were well chosen. While Urmila has come up with a normal performance, Arjun did his best to make his presence felt, Malaika was totally into her oomph so nothing much to talk on acting. Aashish and Neha did not show the right kind of chemistry this time. The real show stealer however was Sanjay Dutt with his distinct dialogue delivery and an amazingly strong screen presence. Even his goons in the form of Dayashankar Pandey, Manoj Joshi have given some really good moments.  The others were okay.

EMI Filem Review

The film would have done a lot better if the realistic angle was maintained throughout, while the first half was about realistic situations, it is the second half where things get filmy even the protagonist falls in love with one of the defaulters. Technically, the film has enough glamour and presentation but the content got dissolved by including the film elements, this should have been avoided. This might just turn out to be an average fare until the external factors convert it into a hit.

Bharatstudent Verdict: Watch it for Sanjay Dutt, that's it!!!
