Story:  
A full length action treat, the story begins with the orphan who becomes a hit man Nandu (Bobby) he is good at his job and a thorough professional. He is given a task by the politician Anna Mhatre (Sachin) to shoot at him during an election campaign to gain sympathy wave. However, before Nandu takes the shot, someone else shoots Anna and he dies. The blame falls on Nandu and he flees from the scene. In this process, he gets into a train and bumps across Puran (Akshay) who is on his way to home in Punjab after many years. He is all excited and narrates his story. Meanwhile, the cops chase Nandu and accidentally the bullet hits Puran who dies on the spot. Nandu escapes from there and decides to go to Punjab and inform about the death of Puran and there he comes across a very warm and big Punjabi family who mistake him to be Puran. Soon, Puran becomes a member of the family and in no time gets close to the grandfather (Kulbushan), aunt (Zareena) and the others. There is a love angle in the form of childhood sweetheart Preet (Shriya), on the other side the cops assign the unusual policeman Rane (Nana) for this case and he successfully finds his way to Punjab. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:    
The director has come out with a routine formula film and though the narrative was a bit average, the presentation was slick. Dialogues were normal, the script was regular with few patches but the screenplay was apt. Music did its bit but the cinematography was superb. Editing was neat in pieces and that helped the film a great deal. Costumes and art department were effective and impressive. Bobby Deol carried out his role with elegance and he suits the character very well, Shriya is sensuous and beautiful but there is not much of scope for performance, Kulbushan was melodramatic, Zarina was neat, Jaspal was jovial, Jackie was not used well, Chunky could have been better, the real show stealer atleast for the mass audience is Nana Patekar with his typical dressing and dialogues. The others contributed their part as required.
