Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyun Bollywood Movie Review
A stale tale, the story begins with an anglo Indian family and it has Margaret (helen) along with her daughter-in-law Rebecca (zeenat) and her two sons Ashley (yuvraaj) and his brother (maradona). Ashley is married to Jenny (rituparna) and has a kid. The story takes a turn when Ashley, a gay, gets attracted to the struggling model Aryan (kapil). In no time, they form a relationship secretly and meanwhile, Jenny gets attracted to Ashley's brother. However, guilt awakens on the gay lovers and they decide to part ways and move on with their life. Did they do that and whether they are successful in their lives forms the rest of the story.
Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyun Hindi Cinema Review
The director has come up with a rather sensitive topic and both presentation and narrative were weak. The dialogues were alright, the script was stale and the screenplay was normal. Background score was good but songs were flop. Cinematography captured the moments well. Editing was alright. Costumes were suitable and the art department was nice. Kapil Sharma did a neat job and was convincing, Yuvraaj was also competent, Helen was a show stealer, Rituparna looks ravishingly seductive, Zeenat Aman was gracious but not used to her fullest, Maradona was good, Hazel was hardly there, Kabir Bedi was wasted. The others did their bit as required.
Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyun Filem Review
As such, the film deals with a topic which will be liked by a very rare sect of audience. However, the quality of its making is not upto the mark as there are many loopholes in the script. Also, the focus was not on the central part and there were multiple tracks. While the first half looks alright, things begin to fizzle out with each passing scene. Sometimes, logic and reasoning are not given. While the attempt to recognize someone's rights is appreciable, care must be taken to ensure that it goes through the healthy way across the audience. At the box office, this will be a dud.
