Dil Kabaddi Bollywood Movie Review

A brave tale of bedroom, the story is about two couples who are married but not happily as boredom sets in with a rather melancholic stride. While Samit (Irrfan) is more of the creative and artistic guy when it comes to bedroom fantasies and would like to have the fullest of his lust but then Mita (Soha) is the more conserved and is not ready for any naughty acts unless she is totally comfortable with the person and that takes time. On the other hand, there is Rishi (Rahul Bose) who is a professor by job and his wife Simi (Konkona) who is an agony aunt columnist. One can imagine the dullness in their lives. However, all their lives change with the arrival of Kaya (Payal), the aerobics instructor, teenager Raga (Saba) who is evolved sexually and last but not the least the art director Veer (Rahul Khanna), the passive man. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Dil Kabaddi Hindi Cinema Review

The director has come out with a rather controversial theme and though the line of the subject is rather specific to a set of audience, the narrative is not that gripping to get it to the level of entertainment. The presentation was good with some impressive and practical dialogues. The script was good at few points and had its loose ends, the screenplay was above average. The music suited the moods and the highlight of the entire thing was the camera department. It was really mesmerizing. The editing was raw at few instances. The film tagged along due to the ensemble cast of highly talented stars. Irrfan was excellent, Soha was superb, Rahul was brilliant and Konkona was outstanding. Payal suited well but she was quite noisy at times, Saba was a real show stealer and equally seductive. The others did not have much to compete in this one.

Dil Kabaddi Filem Review

The film happens to be a rather amateur take from the hilarious masterpiece 'Husbands and Wives' made by the legendary Woody Allen. The film was however too intimate in the sense given the bedroom talks and the open talks on sex and thoughts. It might take the audience some moments of getting stumped by the dialogues but then the film has been good only in parts and few places, not on the whole. Though the entertainment aspect is not constant, there will be few aspects that are good and also this is for a very specific set of audience more the metro centric.
