Story: A good tale gone sour, the story begins with the celebrity couple Rohan (rajniesh) son of a business tycoon and Sanjana (karisma) a supermodel in love with each other and are waiting to get married. Sanjana is about to go to Paris for an assignment but drops at the last minute following her instinct and due to the fact that she wants to be close to her boyfriend. However, the story takes a turn when Rohan gets kidnapped and a ransom of Rs 50 crores is demanded. With time running out, Sanjana resorts to past life regression to locate the clues and links if any. Where does that lead to forms the rest of the story. |
Presentation: The director has come up with a thought provoking storyline and while the presentation was excellent, the narrative was not upto the mark. The dialogues were decent. The script was written with some sensibility but the screenplay was a letdown. Background score was alright and songs were not that great. Cinematography was impressive. Editing was required during the second half. Costumes were well designed while the art department was rich and appealing. Rajniesh takes off on good note but after a while he gets sidelined, Karisma Kapoor was efficient but her role didn’t have strength, Jimmy Sheirgill was excellent, Divya Dutta was apt, Ravi Kishan was perfect, Aarya Babbar was alright. The others did their bit as required. |
Conclusion: The very concept of past life regression is something new for the Indian audience so they would have found it very exciting. True to that, the first half has been quite promising and many expect it to go high. But it is the second half where things take a complete spiral downturn and the climax was too stale and predictable. Overall, the film was good in technical aspects and production values but content was shaky. Even the 3D effect was not required at all. At the box office, the film might have some decent openings but success cannot be guaranteed. Bharatstudent verdict: Good concept, poor execution |
