Dabangg Bollywood Movie Review

Story:
An entertaining masala fare, the story is set on the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh and here lives Chulbul Pandey (salman), a tough but corrupted cop. He has family issues as his father dies young and his mother (dimple) marries Prajapati (vinod khanna) and bears another son Makhanchan (arbaaz). Soon, Chulbul breaks away from family after the death of his mother but his life takes a turn with the arrival of Rajo (sonakshi). Just when he begins to get into the groove of family life, trouble comes in the form of Cheddi Singh (sonu) and others. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a routine storyline but then it is his presentation and narrative that score the points. The dialogues were interesting, the script was racy and the screenplay was gripping. Background score was perfect and three songs were worth taking home. Cinematography was top notch. Costumes were colorful and the art department was rich. Editing was crisp. Action sequences deserve a special mention. Salman Khan was at his best and he is a delight to watch. Sonakshi looks not only graceful but also seductive in many places. Vinod Khanna was elegant, Sonu Sood was excellent, Anupam Kher was impressive, Arbaaz Khan was very good, Dimple was decent, Mahesh Manjrekar could not get his due, the others did their bit and added value to the film.

Conclusion:
Though the storyline runs on a routine phase, it is the deft handling of the script and the way it was brought to the audience that scores. While the first half goes on the lighter side of humor and romance, the second half gets into melodrama but with a pacing climax. The final action sequence remains as a highlight. Overall, this is a treat for the mass audience and to those who like tension free commercial formula entertainers. At the box office, this has a strong chance to become a hit at the B and c centers.
