Theme and Narration:
CKKMK, is a story of 13 year old boy Karan ( Zain Khan ) who has two dreams in life to become greatest cricketer and to have parents. Karan is brought up in a dilapidated Orphanage. Karan's best buddy in the orphanage is Daboo [Deeptiman Chaudhary], who often lends his gentle ears to the aspirations which Karan lives on.

Karan life's changes one day when he lands a bat as a gift. Karan get convinced the bat is being used by Kapil Dev, and it is this conviction which turns the bat in to a magic bat for him. Kituu Salooja has really tried well in screening the other side of life in Orphanage, He really captured some good moments and tired showing things in a spirited and joyful way. Specially one scene where children wait to get adopted by the parents was very touching.

Coincidently, there is a one-day match going on between India and Pakistan, with India on the verge of losing the series. Meanwhile, Karan finds out that his bat has magical powers, as every stroke hits the boundary.

That's when Indian cricket team coach (Vijay Crishna) notices him. Very soon he is in the Indian team and becomes the best batsman in the team, captained by Varun Roy (Rahul Bose) The two batsmen Varun and Karan share the same room and eventually they become good friends. In due course of their friendship, Karan finds out how Varun doesn't like his father and how he aspires to have parents. Karan through various reasons show Varun how lucky he is to have parents and how unlucky he is for not having parents.

Karan soon becomes the nation's heartthrob by winning India two of matches and leveling the series with one final match to be played. Only one person hates karan, Raghav [Raj Bhansali], the orphanage bully, who feels that if Karan did not have the magic bat, he would have never made it to the cricket team. Raghav now wants the magic bat at any cost On the eve of the final match, Raghav gets in to the dressing room, takes away Karan's bat and breaks it. When Karan finds his bat broken, he looses the will to play for India. How he gets back his confidence and wins over his fear form the rest of the story.

Rahul Bose takes a backseat since the focus is on Zain Khan, who's supremely confident all through. Ditto for the other kid, Raj Bhansali. Meera Vasudevan, as Bose's girlfriend, has very little to do. Coach Vijay Crishna and Naseer Abdullah are okay in their small roles. The story has the potential to strike vibes with moviegoers of all ages, but the screenplay vacillates between convincing and least convincing. In an effort to please the kids as also grown-ups, the film drifts away from the core issue Salim-Sulaiman's music is plain ordinary. The title track in the end credits is eye-catching. All and all it is not a bad movie and can be enjoyed by watching with kids.

Bharatstudent Verdict: It's ok if watched with kids .
