Bad Luck Govind Bollywood Movie Review

Story:

A nice thought spoiled, the story is about this man Govind (Gaurav) who has a unique curse, apparently wherever he goes whatever he does ends up in a major mess and brings ill luck. So much so that even cows stop giving milk when he passes by their shed and some of the most bizarre blunders keep happening. Govind is in Delhi when all this is happening and he decides to go in for a change of place and moves to Mumbai. Things take an even messier shape when he falls in the hands of six gangsters (Govind Namdev, Zakir Hussain, Lalit Tiwari, Parmeet Sethi, Vrajesh Hirjee, Ganesh Yadav) who are eccentric and weird in their own ways. The saving grace for Govind is the beautiful and caring nurse Anu (Hrishitaa Bhatt). It is here that his life that is filled with negativity takes a change and the effect of positivity comes but that is not before he has his own rollercoaster ride of things. How that happens forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:

The director had an interesting concept on mind but by the time it got to the screen, it was messed up. The presentation was mediocre and the narration was confusing. The script had many loose ends while the screenplay was executed with poor taste. The dialogues were not witty, the music was just about okay but the camera department was a saving grace. Editing could have been a lot better. Costumes and other locations were apt but that was not enough to keep the attention of the viewer. Gaurav was okay with his role but his bare chested act was on an overdose, Hrishitaa is surely beautiful but she needs to be careful with the projects she is taking up, Govind Namdeo was repetitive, Ganesh Yadav was wasted, Vrajesh Hirjee managed few laughs, Lalit was alright, Zakir was not well utilized. Parmeet was the best among the lot. One could never feel Archana Puran's presence. The others were mechanical.

Conclusion:

It is always important for a very thought provoking concept to be held with a tight script and a perfect screenplay, both of them were missing in this one. Barely fifteen minutes after the first half, has the audience begun to look around and wait for the interval. Even the second half was barely tolerable and the climax was ridiculous. The attempt was to bring about laughs and send them to a comedy riot but the entire set up was quite amateurish and lacked the wit and tangy taste to give it that flavor. Better luck next time folks and this one will sink in no time.

Bharatstudent Verdict: Bad luck if you go to watch it.
