Story: A notable tale, the story is set on the busy backdrop of Mumbai and here lives Puneet (ajay) and his wife Munmun (konkona) along with their son. Things change for them with the arrival of a distant relative Chachaji (paresh) hailing from a far off village who lands up at their doorstep without intimating. What is meant to be a short visit turns out to be an extended stay and this gets onto the nerves of the young couple. From then on, they start hatching plots to get rid of Chachaji and whether they are successful or not forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a sensible storyline and both his presentation and narrative were adequate. The dialogues were witty and hilarious, the script was simple and the screenplay was executed well. Background score was alright but not much to say about the songs. Cinematography was good and it was above average. Editing was crisp. Art department was creative and the costumes were trim. Ajay Devgan plays a rather subdued role and full marks to him. Konkona was spontaneous and she has that natural spark. The real show stealer was Paresh Rawal who is worth every second of his screen presence. He was well supported by Satish Kaushik (appealing), Akhilendra Mishra (effective), Sanjay Mishra (simple) and others.

Conclusion: The theme of the film is something that many urban audiences can connect and given the natural feel many can relate to what is happening on the screen. While the first half gets onto a rather humorous note, it is the second half that gets into humor with a strong dose of devotion. Overall, the film could have been better if few scenes were avoided and it revolved straight on the plot. However, that was an attempt to fill the length of the film. This will appeal to family audiences and metro audience so it will be a profit grosser at the box office. Bharatstudent Verdict : Sensible and neat, recommended |
