Anamika Bollywood Movie Review

A good suspense with bad ending, the story begins with Jia Rao (Minishha Lamba), the stylish, seductive and sophisticated pretty girl who is a high profile escort. In one of her regular meetings, she comes across Vikram Sisodiya (Dino Morea) and instantly sparks fly all over them. In just two day, they confess their love for each other and before anyone realizes, the two become one. However, Vikram makes a honest statement that he had his wife Anamika (Aarti Chabbria) earlier who died due to some really mysterious situations. Both Vikram and Jia come to Gajner in Rajasthan which is the home town of Vikram and what welcomes Jia is a secluded but huge palace which is the ancestral home of her husband. She is greeted with soar faces and bitter expressions as she realizes that the people in that home are still in the thoughts of Anamika. Things get so intense that one day Jia sees the spirit of Anamika in the palace. One fine day, the body of Anamika is discovered and Vikram's brother in law (Gulshan Grover) who happens to be a cop and waiting to nab the culprit gets his chance to reopen the case. The investigations begin and all roads lead to one person - Vikram. So is it really Vikram who killed Anamika? All this suspense forms the rest of the story.

Anamika Hindi Cinema Review

The director has come up with a very gripping and haunting subject to entertain the audience but then he should have focused on the narration of the plot carefully. The presentation was stylish and eerie enough but the real culprit is the story writing which went wrong as the suspense increased. He was well supported by the camera and the production departments but the songs did not fit with the happenings on screen though melodious when heard. Editing could have been a lot smarter than this. The locations were excellent and gave the right feeling. Dino Morea gave a convincing performance as the royal clan and equally better was Minissha who seems to be evolving as an actress each day. Aarti Chabbria did not have much to offer but was pretty enough. Gulshan as the cop gave his regular and Koena Mitra looked sizzling enough. The others came out with an average performance.

Anamika Filem Review

For any suspense thriller, it is very important that the graph takes an ascending line and not the reverse, that's exactly what happened here. The first half came out with such good excitement that interval time was spent by the audience nail bitingly. However, all hopes got quashed with a pale and predictable second half and in no time the viewers were seen looking at each other sheepishly. The second half was pathetic and got really messy with a weak unraveling of the plot. The film will find it really hard to get its costs given the fact that the cricket fever is on and without any crowd pulling cast in the fray.

Bharatstudent Verdict: A suspense that disappoints, very poor!!!
