Always Kabhi Kabhi Bollywood Movie Review
A stale tale, the story is set on the backdrop of St Marks School and this has four students with their own problems. Tariq (satyajeet) is expected to be a topper by his parents, Ash (giselle) is pestered by her mom to become a model/actress. Sameer (ali) is in a tight spot due to two corrupt cops. Nandini (zoa) has a major attitude problem due to her friction with parents. As such, the common problem for all is the issue with their parents. How each of them handles the situation and proves a point to the elders forms the rest of the story.
Always Kabhi Kabhi Hindi Cinema Review
The director has come up with a predictable storyline and while the presentation was neat, the narrative was not alright. The dialogues were stale, the script was dull and the screenplay was weak. Background score was nice but songs were not upto the mark except one. Cinematography was the saving grace. Editing was required during critical situations. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was rich. Ali Fazal was apt and did his bit well, Satyajeet Dubey was good and struck a chord. Giselle was pretty but performance was good in parts. Zoa looks confident and hot. Satish Shah was standard, Lilette Dubey was regular, Navneet Nishan was natural, Vijay Raaz was under utilised.
Always Kabhi Kabhi Filem Review
Though the film came in with a lot of hype that it was Shahrukh Khan's production venture, it didn't have the material to woo the audience. As such, it is a typical youth oriented treat but it lacks the entertainment punch or the depth in its content which can really get them to sit in the seats. While the first half is on the lighter mode with some comedy, it is the second half that gets dragged and annoys with unwanted songs. Overall, the film fails to click with the youth audience so success at the box office is remote.
