Aisha Bollywood Movie Review

Story :
A love filled entertainer, the story is set on the backdrop of the upper class circles of Delhi and here is Aisha (sonam) who believes in only one thing, making others affairs as her own and trying to do something about them. On the other hand, there is Arjun (abhay) who is more contained and believes in everyone minding their own stuff. His encounter with Aisha makes him realize the trouble she is getting into trying to do something about others live. Present in this circle are Aisha's best friend Pinky (ira dubey), Shefali (amrita) a girl from a small place, Randhir (cyrus) a delhi based boy, Dhruv (arunoday) a city hunk. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation :
The director has come up with a known tale and while the narrative could have been better, the presentation was good. The dialogues were effective, the script was predictable and the screenplay was average. Background score was haunting and three songs are worth taking home. Cinematography is the key highlight for the film while editing was not sharp during the second half. Costumes were royal and the art department was excellent. Sonam Kapoor has evolved as an actress so she displays another talented facet of hers, Abhay Deol was amazing and though his character was subdued, he leaves a strong impact. Ira was good, Amrita was apt, Lisa was brief, Cyrus was cool, Arunoday was impressive, M K Raina was elegant, Anuradha Patel was beautiful, Yuri was okay, the others did their bit as required.

Conclusion :
The film is a strong inspiration from the age old novel 'Emma' written by Emma Watson and though the story is old, it was fitted well into the new age generation. Given the dose of love and emotions, the youth audience would get appealed to the film. The first half takes off on a smooth note but there is no real movement in the story. It is only in the second half that things begin to roll but then it would have created a better impact if pace was given to it and some unwanted things removed. Given the publicity and the names associated, the movie will be a profit maker but this will not appeal to all genres of audience.
Bharatstudent Verdict : Youthful and romantic, passable
