Story: A flashback
formula, the story begins with Bunty (Aditya roy) who is in love with
Tanya (sudeepa) and even she is also in love with him. However, when the
topic of marriage comes, he keeps going back. The reason for that
happens to be his parents Kishen (akshay) and Mala (aishwarya). The
parents keep fighting like mad and that causes a fear in Bunty's love
life. However, their marriage anniversary is the turning point which
ends up in a ugly fight and Bunty decides to do something about it. He
wants to go back in time using the time machine developed by Tanya's
father (randhir) and go to 1975 so that he can change the hearts of
Kishen and Mala when they were young and also make them fall in love.
Whether he is successful in this or not forms the rest of the story. |
Presentation: The
director has come up with an excellent storyline and though the
presentation was good, he could not give the punch with his narration.
The dialogues were alright but the script was written weakly and the
screenplay got affected. Background score was good and three songs were
perfect. Cinematography was neat. Editing was alright but could have
been better. Full marks go to the costumes and art department to take us
back to that era. Akshay Kumar comes up with a spirited performance and
he makes his mark. Aishwarya was equally good and scores. The real
revelation was Aditya Roy who has shown a strong potential and proved
his mettle despite two big stars. Sudeepa was sweet. Randhir Kapoor was
good, Neha Dhupia was okay. Om Puri and Kirron Kher were waster. Rajpal
Yadav was hilarious. The others did their bit as required.

Conclusion: It is not an
easy task to come up with movies that talk about time travel and
yesteryears. However, the maker has attempted to give a decent treat.
But then, it is the writing which could not keep that flavor on. While
the first half is just about okay, it is the second half which makes up
for the flaws. The pace in the film and the performances from the cast
leads to an effective result. At the box office, the openings will be
very strong but the good result of 'Golmaal 3' will have an effect. Bharatstudent Verdict : Good attempt!! |
