Story: An extreme story, the tale begins with Kaavya (paoli) who starts her life as a journalist and hails from a middle class family. However, with the various blows she receives in life especially from Siddarth (gulshan) she decides to wreak havoc in his life. For this, she has the best weapon with her, her body. As a result, Kaavya transforms into a high profile sex worker and in this process, she begins to lose her family and also her close friend Vicky (nikhil) who has loved her secretly. While her journey for vengeance begins, whether Kaavya really achieves her goal or not forms the rest of the story. |
Presentation: The director has come up with a controversial storyline and while the presentation was above average, the narrative was gripping in parts. The dialogues were written with strong profanity and intensity. The script was well written and the screenplay was apt. Background score was impressive and three songs were passable. Cinematography was simply superb. Editing was required in few key situations. Costumes were stylish and well designed while the art department was suiting the moods. Gulshan Devaiah has come up with a good performance and he carries off well with his anti-hero act. Paoli Dam is not pretty but she has a strong sex appeal that is more authoritative. Performance wise, she was neat. Nikhil Dwivedi is a natural performer and he made his presence felt. Joy Sengupta was classy, Mohan Kapoor was moderate, the others didn’t have much scope. |
Conclusion: The very essence of vendetta and that too from a woman triggers a different reaction and when she starts using her sexuality for that it becomes complicated. However, the film has enough ammunition to reveal the rage the protagonist has towards the man who destroyed her. While the first half goes about with the regular elements of passion and lust, the second half goes about with the elements of deceit. However, it must be said that few scenes are very unrealistic and impractical. The climax part will also raise eyebrows. Overall, this is a film which will get extreme reactions and can appeal to a select set of audience. At the box office, the openings will be strong due to the hype but success will depend on word of mouth publicity.
