Story: A high octane action tale, the story takes off across various locations. In Uzbekistan, a KGB officer is tortured and killed. In Moscow, an Indian secret agent gets exposed. Meanwhile, in Cape Town, a meeting happens between various business tycoons who talk about a nuclear suitcase being hidden somewhere in Moscow and a dead KGB agent has got the link to it. Meanwhile, the RAW receives an incomplete Code Red message which has nothing but a number 242. The time comes for Agent Vinod (Saif) to resolve the matter. His unconventional and risk taking abilities usually give results. He takes off to Morocco to investigate this case and he is supported by a beautiful doctor Ruby (Kareena) and a veteran mafia guy Kazan (Prem Chopra). How Agent Vinod unveils the mystery forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a brilliant storyline and while the presentation was par excellence, the narrative was a major highlight. The dialogues were riveting and carried weight wherever required. The script was well written and the screenplay was efficient which needs concentration. Background score was haunting and three songs were special. Cinematography was top notch and captivating. Editing was good but it was required during the second half. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was mindblowing. Saif Ali Khan eases himself into the character and comes up with an exceptional performance. Kareena Kapoor looks hot as usual and she carries her role powerfully. Prem Chopra was a big surprise as he essays his role with perfection. Gulshan Grover was menacing. Ram Kapoor was good. Adil Hussain was apt. Shahbaaz Khan was superb. Mariyam Zakaria was seductive and appealing. The others did their bit as required and added value.

Conclusion: It takes real guts and courage to come up with a film that speaks of an Indian secret service agent amidst the likes of James Bond and Jason Bourne. However, the Desi version had enough ammunition to make its impact. While the first half goes about with various layers and progresses briskly, the second half gets about connecting the dots though there was a little drag. Overall, this is a film which should be watched for the mesmerizing locations, production values and action sequences. At the box office, the film has enough ingredient to pull off a good success.
