The luxury sedans have become the happening vehicles in Indian market and Hyundai Sonata 2012 sure adds into that list. The first thing that catches the eye are the interiors which are plush with all controls in reach. Then come the gadgets such as electrically adjustable seats, steering mounted controls, trip meter toggle, reset buttons, trip meter buttons etc.
 
Inside the car lies the 2.4 litre inline-four mill mated which can be used for manual stick-shaft or auto box with paddle shafters according to your preference. Each cylinder has 4 valves and the DOHC engine makes 201 PS and sends 250 Nm. The engine capacity is 2359 cc and still it gives a fuel efficiency of 10-12.5 kmpl in the manual transmission. The six gear ratio also works well.
 
It reaches 100 kmph in 10 seconds and has got a GDi engine which generates amazing power. It can accommodate 5 people easily and the fuel capacity is 70 litres. The wheelbase is 2795 mm and the ground clearance is 155 mm. The rear suspension is multi-link type and the front suspension is McPherson Strut type. There is a good amount of leg room even for those seated behind making it a comfortable drive.
 
There are other features such as Brake Assist, ABS, TCS, ESP, rear parking sensors with warning display, Active Head Restraints, rear parking camera with high resolution, six airbags, projector headlamps etc. On the flip side, the car is available only in the petrol model and not in the diesel model. However, the pricing has been quite decent as the transmission variant is costing Rs 18.53 lakhs while the automatic version costs Rs 20.61 lakhs ex-showroom in Delhi.
