Skoda Superb Ambition

The luxury car segment has been quite competitive and one vehicle which is worth a try is Skoda Superb Ambition. This has an elegant design with plush interiors and above all, the space and leg room of a limousine. The Ambition has replaced the standard bi-xenon headlights with halogen projector headlights. It also has retractable headlight washers and hill hold control. There is the electronic stability programme with Parktronic sensors and tyre pressure monitoring.
 
The speakers are present at the front and there is electric sunroof and cruise control.  The audio player comprises of eight speakers. In terms of comfort and elegance, Ambition has dual zone climatronic, 12-way adjustable front seats, electronically foldable mirrors, eight airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and EDL.
 
The sedan is powered by the 1.8 TSI engine with 6-speed manual transmission and 2.0 TDI CR with 6-speed Automatic DSG transmission. The variant comes with the 2.0 TDI unit but despite all this, the engine still consumes quite a bit of oil. It is sophisticated with 140 horses and 320Nm of twist. The car is fixed with the DSG gearbox and it is no doubt a smooth performer.
 
The important aspect of Ambition is the pricing. Unlike the conventional Skoda series, the Ambition has got the petrol version tagged at Rs 17.6 lakhs while the diesel version is tagged at Rs 22.5 lakhs, ex-showroom Maharashtra. If you compare it with Honda Accord , then it is Rs 3 lakhs less and that too a manual version. Overall, Ambition is elegant, has good space and is quite affordable.
