Mahindra XUV500
Mahindra has launched a first of its kind, a New World SUV which was previously codenamed as ‘W201’ and later announced the official name as “XUV500”. This is the first Mahindra’s global SUV model which is designed with several inputs from the customers across the globe. This XUV500 is a complete driving experience with its uniqueness in style, technology, safety, performance and comfort.
Mahindra has released the new XUV500 in three different models: W6 (4X2), W8 (4X4) and W8 (4X4). The ex-showroom prices (New Delhi), of these models are APPROXIMATELY 11.10 lakhs, 12.45 lakhs and 13.43 lakhs respectively.
The XUV500 features a monocoque chassis and has mHawk (2.2 liter) diesel engine which is finely tuned to develop 140 bhp at 3750 rpm of maximum power and 330 nm at 1600 rpm of maximum torque. The ARAI certified mileage of XUV500 is 15.1 kmpl. The main highlights of XUV500 base variant W6 are: a static bent projector head lamps with LED parking lights, six speed manual gear box, an integrated music system with i-Pod, CD/MP3 and USB connectivity, Disc brakes on all four wheels, a digital immobilizer, digital trip and tachometer, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), hill decent control, front and rear fog lamps, tilt power steering, (cruise, audio, phone controls and voice command) switches on steering, 17 inch alloy wheels, six SRS airbags, mobile charging points, remote tail gate opening and many other features.
Apart from the W6 model, the W8 and W8 AWD models has some extra features like: a fully loaded GPS Navigation with touch-screen and audio support consisting of over 1.5 million kms of road across 1200 cities and an inclusive DIS (Driver Information System) which constantly reports all the vehicle’s important information in real time.
This XUV500 is manufactured at Chakan plant, Pune and has a plan to export the countries in South East Asia, Africa and Western Europe. This new model can compete with big guns like Chevrolet Captiva, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and many others. The New Mahindra XUV500 is available in seven different shades which are Volcano Black, Amazon Green, Tuscan Red, Satin White, Dolphin Grey, Moondust Silver and Opulant Purple.
