Sony Xperia Sola
The famous Sony has been busy expanding the Xperia range of mobile phones using the Android platform. Now, they have come up with the Sony Xperia Sola which is somewhat similar to the Xperia range in terms of design. For now, it doesn’t have the ice cream sandwich version of Android but it has few other features to compensate. Notable among them is the crisp reality display. It also has a floating touch with a dual-core processor. Here is a look at the key features. It has a Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE. It supports 3.7" with a 16M-color capacitive touchscreen of Full WVGA resolution (854 x 480 pixels) equipped with Sony Mobile BRAVIA engine. The current Android OS is v2.3.7 Gingerbread and it is planned to have an Android 4.0 ICS update soon. There is a Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU with 512 MB RAM and NovaThor U8500 chipset. The camera is special with 5 MP autofocus along with LED flash and geo-tagging, there is the Multi Angle shot with 720p video recording @ 30fps. There is also the continuous autofocus and stereo sound. The phone is equipped with Wi-Fi b/g/n and DLNA, GPS with A-GPS along with a 8 GB built-in storage from which 5GB is accessible. There is the standard micro USB port for charging and stereo Bluetooth v2.1 with Standard 3.5 mm audio jack. The other features involve a Stereo FM radio with RDS along with Voice dialing. It has Adobe Flash 11 support with additional support for Deep Facebook integration. There is also the Accelerometer and proximity sensor along with NFC connectivity and included NFC tags. On the flip side, the Sony Sola doesn’t have a front-facing camera and the display has poor viewing angles. The shutter key is quite stiff and the battery is non user-replaceable. |
