Reliance CDMA Tab
Reliance Communications has unveiled its “Reliance CDMA Tab” an Android tablet and also became the first CDMA operator in India to enter the tablet market. With the launch of this new tablet, Reliance also emerged as the first telecom operator in India to offer tablets on both GSM and CDMA networks.
The Reliance CDMA Tab runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. This tab also offers a 7 inch (TFT LCD display with WVGA display resolution) capacitive touch-screen which also supports 800x480 pixels. It is loaded with a 512 MB RAM and a 4 GB micro SD is provided and the external storage is expandable up to 32 GB. It is powered by an 800 MHz single core processor. The new Reliance CDMA Tab is a light weight tab which weighs around 397g and comes with a 2 MP rear and a front VGA camera.
The Reliance CDMA Tab is also pre-loaded with information services like browsing, navigating, searching etc and communication services like e-mail, chat, SMS, MMS etc and entertainment services like music, video, games etc and social networking services like Facebook, Twitter etc and also provides access to thousands of applications through the Android Market. The Reliance CDMA Tab supports 3G network and operates Rev-A 3.1 Mbps network. For the local area connectivity, it is provided with a Wi-fi and a Bluetooth facility. This tab uses a 4000mAh Li-Ion battery and also offers more than 5 hours of talk-time.
The important features of the Reliance CDMA Tab are A-GPS navigation support, Speed dial switch to Bluetooth device, Voice calling, 3 way calling, mute in call, mobile TV, stereo FM radio with RDS, integrated alarm clock and R-World online app pre-installed. The Reliance Communications is offering this device with a one year free subscription on McAfee Mobile Security, 2 months of complimentary free subscription on BigFlix+ and Rs. 250 worth of Reliance Global Call which altogether is valued about Rs. 2,100.
The Group Head – Brand & Marketing, Reliance Communications Limited, Mr. Sanjay Behl cited that by redefining the Tab market in the country last year with the launch and success of Reliance 3G Tab, the company is now yet again first to introduce the country’s first CDMA Tab. He also stated that with the rapid increase in data consumption in India and with Reliance’s superior HSD network in over 1000 towns, the launch of this Reliance CDMA Tab is another step to carry forward the mission of Wirefree India.
