Exercises to stay mentally fit


It is often conceived that staying physically fit is the best way to keep in good health. But then it is also important that one should have the right kind of mental health to keep himself/herself happy. So, what is it you do to keep your mind sharp. It is here that the mental exercises come into picture. Exercising the brain at constant intervals is the key aspect so let us look at a few.
 
For starters, you can go for solving puzzles and since the brain has the power to regenerate neurons and keep it running. So that can be done by playing crossword puzzles and Sudoku. This improves the brain function and prevents cognitive decline. You can also go for strategy games such as card games or board games which are considered to be great brain simulators.
 
Playing these games tend to challenge your cognitive functions. But then, remember not to play the same game at all times. Variety is important in this aspect. The other better way to have mental fitness is by going for cardiovascular exercises. Cardio workouts also prove effective in preventing Alzheimer’s disease and it can prevent the fall of brains cells as we age.
 
Then come the Neurobic exercises which involve intention simulation of the brain for better mental fitness and flexibility. For instance, taking shower with your eyes closed and using only the visual cues while eating are some of the classic examples. Trying stuff like breaking routine way to work and trying to approach situation with a novel way is apt. There is also the relaxation technique which has its benefits.
