Get toned arms with these workouts
Having a flat stomach or broad shoulders is good but more than that you should have the right kind of arms to fit the physique. They tend to sag as age catches up so it is important to keep them in shape. Arms can be toned by following some upper body exercises and the fundamental to be followed is one should have a balanced workout which works for the entire body. The first step to toned arms is a full body workout but focus should be on core strength exercises and upper body. Concentrate a little on the leg muscles and torso along with weighted squats. Another important aspect is the shoulders. Good shoulders give good toned arms. So doing shoulder exercises is important for strengthening your arms and making them flexible. Experts say equal focus should be on pushing and pulling exercises. So, if you are doing push-ups then you should also do some pulling exercises like the barbell rows. The target should be on endurance and strength development instead of one area only. Doing something like overhead presses in 5-10 reps range along with some bodyweight pushups is a good combination. Bent over rows is another good exercise and this should be done with dumbbells. Repeating the exercise till failure tends to have a strong impact on the shoulder and upper arms. Another very effective exercise is the pull ups and if that is done rightly it gives you a proper arm and shoulders. But for lateral pull down you would require gym equipment. Doing yoga poses like headstand, elbow stand is also worthy. |
