Martial arts more advisable than regular gym
The conventional thinking has always been that hitting the gym is the best way to keep in fit shape but now the trend is changing. Many youngsters are looking towards a much more effective technique and this is martial arts. Apparently, this form of fitness helps in self-defence, mental health, better stability and it also adds a lot to improve the confidence levels. Workouts at gyms, swimming or aerobics can add only to the physical level of fitness but going for martial brings change from inside and also in the thought process. A balance of sort is created by practicing martial arts. Given the current stress levels and sedentary lifestyle, this is surely a good remedy. While there are many forms of ancient martial arts like Karate, Judo, taekwondo etc, new forms have emerged. Notable among them is Tai Chi Chuan which is more of an internal martial art that is a mix of meditation and body movements. The workout is very intense and the sweating is more in twenty minutes when compared to the workout at gym. This is useful to youngsters who are in high-stress jobs and primarily from the IT industry. Tai Chi is also useful in restoring health ailments. The other form of martial arts which is quite famous is Kick Boxing. This is more to do with developing fitness to the overall body and build the concentration levels. In India, there are many traditional forms of martial arts and notable among them is Kalaripayattu from Kerala. Lately, even Kovai is being considered as a better means of self defence and an effective form of fitness. |
